Why Creating Makes Your Life Significant

The feeling in my stomach is the energy I need to create. It is emotive, intense, painful and soft. It needs an outlet… not through running or stretching… but through creative, expressive movement that allows it to be powerful and broken all at the same time.

The feeling in my stomach, for me, is passionate dance… creative self-expression with a powerful, strong presence needing to be seen.

Why Writing Makes My Life Significant

My brain collects and organizes all the data from the day, and as I sleep, it puts it into concepts, beliefs, and memories. It organizes it in a way that says, “this is important” or “forget about this,” and when I wake up, it wants my attention. It needs me to write it out so we can know what I learned from the previous day and create something meaningful from it. Meaning is essential to the human psyche. One of the definitions of meaning (when googled) is “important or worthwhile quality; purpose”.

Writing gives my life and experiences meaning. (BRB just got flooded with tears). It allows me to understand the past to move forward. It offers me safety from lessons learned and gives me fuel for motivation moving forward. It regulates the collection of thoughts, feelings, and energies collected in a day that need to be let out in the morning, so I can clear the slate and collect new information in all forms for the upcoming hours set before me.

Writing also allows me to share my life with others. It communicates important lessons, reflections, and thoughts on the human experience that enhance the quality of life for myself and for others. I want to share these simple and profound truths with the world so that my experiences aren’t solely for my benefit… they benefit the body of people who experience humanity and want to experience their humanity to the fullest.

Writing makes my life significant, and it’s that simple and profound.

Makes so much sense.

These are my honest and raw thoughts.

I hope they help,

Katie
